Apex Shade Structures was given an open brief to cover an existing sandpit but with one main criteria – ‘we want something different’!
This project had several challenging aspects – with sloping terrain and limited access we contracted a local firm to supply specialist all terrain excavation equipment for ground works. Again, due to the access and terrain the Apex Shade team wheel barrowed all the concrete for the footings (2.5m³) – over 300 metres!
We combined a bold, exciting design with colourful and bright primary colours to create a robust shade structure to complement the existing play area in the rural environment. The client was very happy with the result and the students loved the new colours.
